Candlelighter Dress

I am debating what color our candlelighter dress should be. My bridesmaid dress is a plum color and my accents are gray and ivory. The tuxes are dark gray with plum vests/ties. Should I go with the dark gray color to match the tux? Any other ideas?

I've neverseen a candle lighterdressed in a specific color to match the wedding.  that is a very  minor role in everything and that person should choose their own attire and color, not buy something in a specified color to match the wedding party.

I agree with this. Just let them wear something they already have. They dont need to match your WP, in fact no one has to match your WP.

We have two candlelighters, BMs are wearing plum and GM are wearing black suits.  Our candlelighters are in those roles because they are too old to be flower girls and I don't like junior bridesmaids, so they will be in all photos that the flower girls are in, so I did want to have a say in what they wore.  I found a purple dress at Macy's that coordinates, but is a much brighter purple.  We were also able to get them on sale after they discontinued the style, so they were $20 a piece.  

I think any shade of gray or a coordinating purple would look fine, but I would also consider why they are a candle lighter, if they will be in photos, etc. before I started dictating what they wore and if they had to pay for it.
