LOL, We're guilty! Are you?

So be honest Knotties and tell me if you are guilty like we are

Fi and I bought our wedding rings already. They are perfect and beautiful and we are so guilty of putting them on all the time! LOL. I know some people say it is bad luck but we can't help it! Just had to share. Have a great day ladies!!

Re: LOL, We're guilty! Are you?

  • We tried ours on a few times. I sheepishly admitted it to my H...and then he admitted that he'd tried his on while I was away too. :)
  • We don't have our wedding rings yet but FI wanted a "practice" ring already...so he wears a wedding band on his wedding finger 24/7.  He won't take it off, LOL.  Which actually makes me feel really good, especially considering all the FI's and DH's I hear about not wanting to wear a wedding band.
  • DH had wanted a 'man ring' for years and finally found one while we were engaged.  He got it in the size to fit his ring finger so he could 'get used to having one on there.'  By the time he lost that ring he was used to having a ring on and was excited about having his wedding band, so he'd steal it from me all the time.  A finger injury later, that ended up not being his wedding band anyhow.
  • we both had to try them on. i got mine online so i had to see if it'd fit, & Fi wasn't with me to buy his, so we had him try it on. & good thing too cause it didn't fit! so i had to exchange so he had to try that 1 on. i don't believe that superstition personally

Actually we didn't but that's purely because of the situation. We met and decided to have a baby together 2 months later; 6 months after we got together we decided we were going to get married at some point and we were also moving out of state and didn't know when we would be back and my dad isn't one for traveling, so we got a temporary engagement ring (I still wear it but on my right hand.) We literally just got the ring that we could afford and fit my finger, just so that he could ask my dad's permission....he didn't want to ask empty handed. LOL!

Then later, we found an engagement/wedding band set and we both loved it and we could afford it so we got it. But I am such a ditz, I took them in to see about getting them sized a bit and that's the last time I ever saw the wedding band. I know I just got pricing but I haven't been able to find it since (this has been like 1 1/2 to 2 years! LOL!) So we finally bought another one and that one never touched my hands after I tried it on...my hunny took it and put it in a safe place.

But now, we are actually married. Yes, we're planning our wedding but it's because two of the people that we insisted on being there (his dad and his daughter) couldn't come when we originally wanted to get married. We thought about postponing it AGAIN, but the date we picked would have been my parents 25th anniversary if my mom hadn't passed away, so we have that date on our certificate, but we still want to do the whole she-bang with everyone there. We both have our rings on, since technically we are married.

Now we just have to decide if we are going to take our rings off for the ceremony and give them back to each other, or if we are going to do something different. I've tried convincing him that we should do new rings, or additions to our rings, but he's not too sure about that.
  • Haha I catch FI putting his on all the time.. it's too cute, but I playfully scold him to put it back! I've taken mine out too a few times, I can't wait until we're wearing them all the time!
  • Yep!  I couldn't stop putting it on and showing it to my friends when they came over.  Then one day I had a hard time getting it off (I guess with the humidity).  Once I got it off, I told Mr. Penny to hide it from me, and he did!  I couldn't control myself :)
  • yes it bad luck and now u will havea  unlucky marriage uh oh u didnt think about that no?
  • I never heard that it was bad luck.  My ring is my great-grandmother's wedding band, and I tried it on a ton of times.  We already bought FI's ring, but it hasn't come in yet.  He says he won't try it on.

  • I have worn mine out for a couple of hours in public.  I have had it for 2 years and I have to go to the mall to get it inspected every 6 months.  I usually take that time to go for cocktails in the mall with a GF of mine.  So I just wear the ring.  I dont want to carry the box around and misplace it and I dont want to leave it in the car.  I wear it on my right hand.

  • Definitely guilty. :) The first day I got it I wore it around for a while to make sure I liked the size. Just so happened, it was a warm day and I had trouble getting it off! I now try it on every once in a while, esp if someone comes over and wants to see it. I just love it so much I can't wait to wear it. My fiance's ring just got in and we haven't picked it up yet... we'll see if he likes to try it on or not ;)
  • We totally put ours on from time to time too lol

  • Heck yea, I break it out every so often jsut to look at it. When you have an almost 2-year engagement you need to put it on occassionally! ;)

  • Mine is still being designed, but I KNOW I will be guilty of trying it on--I wear a ring on my other ring finger, and somethimes I take it off and slip it under my engagement ring, just to "get a feel" for what it will be like ;)

FI got his already, and he's tried it on a bunch of times, he can't wait to wear it!
