Tie Question

We are having trouble coming up with a tie for the groom. My wedding colors are light green and pale yellow. It is a daytime wedding in the middle of July. The wedding party will be wearing green ties, white shirts and a gray suit. My finance does not want a white tie because he will be wearing a white shirt, but when we went to the store to look for pale yellow ties a lot of sales people told us that when there is a picture of the two of us together then you will really notice the tie. So what color do you think? We have three colors in mind yellow, white or gray,

Re: Tie Question

  • So what if you notice the tie? I think pale yellow will look great. If not, what about a light green print to set him apart from the groomsmen?
  • My DH wore a white tie, vest, and shirt to match me while the rest of the GM's matched the BM's. This way he stood out as the groom and he matched me in pictures. But it's really up to your FI and what he wants to wear, but if he wears the white, you will see it even if he's wearing a white shirt.

I'm confused about what this is supposed to mean, or how it would qualify as a bad thing...
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • She probably meant that since the bride will have on white and the groom's shirt is white, the eye might be drawn to the yellow in the tie instead of the subjects of the photograph.

I think this is what we're doing, except FI & I will be in ivory.
