White Tux jacket - tacky or classy?

 hear mixed opinions on the white tux jacket. I want my FI to wear something different from the typical black tux. He really likes the white, and so do i, im just not sure...It would be worn with black tuxedo pants, and maroon vest or cummerbund with matching bowtie

We are having an evening reception/ceremony in the summer (if that helps)

We will be doing a completely white tux for my FI. And i think it looks great!  I also think it will look just fine having black pants like in the picture.

We are doing the white jacket (shawl collar), black bow tie (real tied one), and black flat front pants for my FI.  GM will be in black suits.  I think it is very old school (my dress has a vintage flair)  and it makes him stand out - just like me.

All the white tux jackets I've seen worn always look super classy...although I've never seen them with a colored vest underneath. I think I've only seen them with black, but that doesnt mean it wouldnt look nice with the maroon. I'm just having a hard time picturing it. Go for it, especially since you both like the idea.

Thanks guys! i  had him try it on with the maroon and it looked great, i might just go with black or white instead of the maroon and just have the groomsmen wear maroon with the black tuxes

I love the white jacket. CLASSY for sure. I have to say no to any color other than black to go with it. That reminds me of prom..

Since your reception is in the summer in the evening, I think this would look fabulous! Its a very classy look.

Hmm 65% pro and 35% con. This means a third of our guests might not like it!
 Im surprised so many people think its tacky!? Theyre not really saying much though just voting lol!
