Tea length with pickups? !

This may get lengthy because I'm obsessing a bit over this question! :)

Ok, so I did my first day of shopping for the wedding dress, and I'm so confused!
I went in loving the idea of tea length, but unfortunately there were only two I could try on at the stores I went to, and neither were the one or gave me any positive feelings.

So instead I went and tried on other ones, and against all expectations of mine and my mother (who both have watched Say Yes to the Dress too much!) I fell in love with the look of pickups on a big fancy gown. I only tried it on because my fiance had made a comment that some gowns look too boring without a lot going on below the waist and the pickups looked cool.

BUT we're trying to do a small wedding and I would love something less fancy than a ballgown, so I'm wanting to know if there are any tea length out there with pickups that anyone knows. Google isnt my friend, as the only one that didn't look like a bridesmaids dress was: http://www.dressale.com/sweet-strapless-princess-gown-with-pickup-p-25947.html
Does anyone know what this is? I don't want a badly made knock off, so any help to find designer would be much appreciated! I know it's more knee length, and I would prefer between under the knee and over the ankle.

Anyone know other tea lengths with pickups? Or is my taste so off that noone would make it because I'm the only crazy person who would be looking for it?!

FYI: the gown I loved and felt INCREDIBLE in is: http://www.couturepromdress4less.com/products/29205-cara-mia-bridal (the designer site is essencedesigns.com, but I can't seem to get the link to not take you to the regular gallery)
I'm a plus size bride, a 16 of this gown fit like a glove and looked like it wouldn't need any alterations besides maybe half an inch of hemming so I don't have to wear too high a heel.

This is another I saw, the length is way better, but again I dont know who makes the original.
  • I wonder how much it would cost to just get the long one shortened to tea length? There isn't anything fancy going on at the bottom...

I've thought of that, but don't know how pickups would look on a tea length. I wouldn't be against shortening it if I knew that pickups on a shorter one wouldn't look entirely wonky on me!

Here's the thing. Very few people actually look good in tea length dresses.  Unless your supermodel tall they make you look short and stumpy.  So there is something to consider.  Also I'm having a hard time imagining pick ups looking good on anything other than a full ball gown. The short dress looks very quilt like. Whatever you do, do not buy for the site that sells that short dress. It's a knock off.
