Poll: Which dress?

I recently posted about my dress being too similar to somebody elses.  II went one final time to try on dresses...I hadn't tried on any ball gown dresses which are what I've always dreamed of wearing.  Well..guess what.  I fell in LOVE.  Surprise surprise.

We are getting married in a victorian ballroom so the princess dress definetly fits the feel better if that sways your opinion at all.

Dress #1: Casablanca 2066 - I LOVE THIS DRESS.  I did from the second I tried it on.  It fit me like a glove so I could see how it would really look and I think my figure looks great in it. I just really worry that it is too trendy.  I am a really traditional person and I am afraid I just love how I look in it.  It is alot less bridal though.

Dress #2:  Enzoani Dabra -It is exactly what I have always wanted in a dress with a touch of the first one.  It is big, huge train and I felt SO beautiful in it instead of sexy.  I'd have the back brought down a bit to "v" it a little like the first dress and have my hips taken in to makes it a bit more of a dropped waist.  It isn't clipped in this first pic and was 6 sizes too big so I didn't get a full feel of the correct size like I did in the first.  The salon is ordering a loaner for me to try on in the right size.  I just felt like it didn't show my figure off as much.

HA omg I look deranged in this picture....please excuse that! HA!

Here is another girl in the dress actually fitted and with more of a dropped waist look which I think it would look like on me from the front

Friends and family are team 2 princess dress....said it is more "me" and more of a wedding dress.  I just can't get the first one out of my head!

What do you think?

Re: Poll: Which dress?

  • I like #1, but if you are more of a classic bride and prefer a look that will still look great 20 years from now, I'd go with #2.

  • I absolutely love dress #2 and would wear it in a heartbeat, BUT if you love dress #1 then that is what you should go for.  Stop thinking about how it will match your wedding theme/venue or what your friends and family consider more "you" or more "wedding".  This is one thing that you don't want to have regrets on.  To me if you can't stop thinking about dress #1 then that is your dress.

  • They are both gorgeous dresses, but if I had to choose. . . . i'd say 2.  In your photos you look more comfortable in it.
  • my opinion doesn't count here. it's your wedding dress and you should only go by what your intutition tells you to do. I am personally not a fan of the Mermaid dress cause it's not my style but you like it and I am sure you will look beautiful in it! Also it look svery much like a bridal gown, just like the second one but has a different style. And it looks good on your curves :-D
so, go with what your heart tells you, not with what a random girl saysk, yes that includes me too  Cool
  • I tend to favor less fussy dresses because I feel like you see the dress then the girl. My vote is dress number 1 because I see you in a beautiful dress.

[QUOTE]I think you should wait to try on the second dress in your size before making a decision.  Sometimes I think I went with my wedding dress just because it was the only sample they had that fit perfectly.  I wonder if that's why the first one is calling out to you more? FWIW, I like the second better.

That is EXACTLY what I think, too.  Do I love #1 so much because it doesn't have 14 clips to keep it on me?

  • I like #2 better, but that's because I don't care for mermaid dresses.
  • I voted number 2, although you look awesome in both of them, I just love the second one.

  • I LOVE the first one - it's super similar to my dress. I think it flatters your figure more than the second dress. I was also in-between 2 dresses and I ended up going with the mermaid because it was more figure flattering for me personally. You definitely do not need to match the dress to the venue.

  • I like #2 more, but can you comfortably walk in it?  The wide skirt makes me nervous, but you do look stunning in that dress!

  • I don't care for the first dress, I think it does look trendy and I see it being outdated in a few years.

The second one is more classic with a modern twist.

You don't have to follow your childhood dream or even match your gown to your venue, go with what you love and feel more comfortable in.

I like #2 best, it looks very romantic and soft. But you have to get the one you feel most comfortable in. I know I couldn't do the mermaid dress because it's too tight and I think I'd feel constricted the whole time.
