Kleinfeld's?

Hey Ladies! I have an appt. at Kleinfelds in Manhattan in a few weeks, and wanted to get feedback on people's experiences there? I watch SYTTD all the time, but wonder if it actually goes like that in real life, especially since you only get 1.5 hours and worry that is not enough time. I have done some homework and tried on other dresses so I have an idea of what styles I like so I wont have to worry about that as much. Any feedback on your appt's, fittings, Sales Girls would be great. Thanks! :)

Re: Kleinfeld's?

  • I bought my dress at Kleinfelds, my sales girl was Blanca and she was fantastic!  The 1.5 hrs wasn't enough for me, I went over and didn't find the dress I wanted, but I was soooo impressed with the service and the people there I made a 2nd appointment.  I found my DREAM dress at this appointment, Randy came over and discussed with my my options for jewelry and hairpieces AFTER he knew that I had fallen in love with the dress from observing me for like 10 minutes across the room.  Don't bring too many people, there was a bride that was there with a group of 10 and I felt so bad for her!  She fell in love with this dress but 4 of the girls in her entourage hated it!

After I bought my dress the store has been in constant contact with me in terms of emails with FAQ and a 24 hr hotline in case I have any questions.  I have used this # to ask about heel height and whether I should have ordered the extra length.

They are just so professional and I am soooooooooo glad I got my dress there.  I was able to avoid the NY sales tax by having my dress shipped to my house in NJ, but I will be bringing it into the store for the alterations (they do have a flat rate of $595, so if you don't think you are going to need a lot of alterations I wouldn't do it there). I have  size 12 chest and a size 8 waist, so I know my dress is gonna need a lot of work!

Good luck and I hope you have just as an amazing experience as I did!

  • I didn't go to Kleinfeld's but my dress appt. took less than an hour.  I only tried on 3 dresses.  Went with the second one.

  • I've had two friends go- one loved it, one hated it. I think everything is in which sales person you get. My friend had Sarah and absolutely loved her and felt that she got her "style" right away.  If you can request Sarah I absolutely would.

  • I've gone, and I went with a friend. Both experiences were meh. I didn't try on anything I really liked at my appointment, and at my friend's the sales person didn't actually spend that much time with her and tried to push a gown that she didn't really like. Honeslty, it's no different in terms of experience than anywhere else-- it's just got more selection than most places.
  • I got my dress there.  Rosario was my salesperson.  She was great!  It was my first time trying on dresses and I bought my dress that day- the first one I tried on.  I of course tried some others, but none compared.  I gave her some direction and a basic budget and she was back in less than 10 minutes with MY dress in hand... and, for the record- it was less than the budget I told her.  So I had a great experience, didn't feel pressured, didn't feel like they were trying to upsell me, they were professionals.  I highly recommend!!
  • I got my dress there as well, it was nothing like Say Yes to the Dress! I told my consultant a price point and she stuck to it - didn't try to pressure me at all with anything and really helped me make my decision. They have also been in constant contact with me and I just got my dress a couple weeks ago.

The one thing I would say, and maybe it's just becuase I live and work in Vegas, but they all seem a bit snippy on the phone and whatnot. Not like they are trying to be rude, but I think it's just how they are. Again, it's probably because my views on service standards are forever skewed having lived here...

    Good luck if you go!
  • Thanks for the tips! :)

You brought up a zombie thread and your post doesn't even make sense. I'm so confused what this even means.
