Color Crazy!!

ok so I'm a girl that loves color so when it came to my wedding i wanted to have many bright colors for the wedding. So originally I had 4 Bridesmaids each in a different color but now I have 6 and still keeping with the all in different colors. but now my mother is saying it's too much, and now i'm second guessing myself :-\ please tell me what you think my girls still haven't ordered the dresses yet and my wedding is in august so i can change it maybe one more time (i've already changed them 3 times) but here is what i have them in now

using the colors:
Strawberry
Appletini
Mango
Aquamarine
Jade
Majestic

Is it really too much or am i good?

Re: Color Crazy!!

  • Personally, I think that if you want color, go ahead and use color!  I love the colors and I think they would look very nice together!

But... If you decide that it is in fact too much and you want less color, you could choose two or three of your favorite colors, and this would still keep the wedding colorful!

But if you want all of these colors, don't let anyone tell you anything different!

  • I think that it is such a cute dress and I love all the colors.  I think that it would look cute and really unique  to have them all in different colors, but if you have a feeling it may be too much like a previous post said you could pick 2 or 3 different colors.  I really like the idea of them all being in different colors though.
  • I vote go for it!

To keep the different colors contained...I would have them all in the same shoe or same color shoe.  Then choose a the same simple bouquet for them...maybe in shades of white.

Good luck! If you stick with what you like, then you won't look back and think I wish...

if you want to tone it down at all, i saw a pretty cool idea the last time i was in Pittsburgh.  my fiance and i saw a wedding taking pictures and all the bridesmaids had black dresses on, but then each one had different color shoes and a matching bouquet.  one girl with bright red shoes with bright red flowers, another with yellow shoes and flowers, another with purple shoes and flowers, etc.  the pop of different colors really stood out - it was so cool!

but i'm not suggesting you tone the colors down, because i really think you should do what you want color wise :)
  • i love it!!! (i also like the orange better than the aqua color). i agree w/ getting the guys in matching colors as well.
i love bright colors as well, but my BM gave me some grief when i wanted to put them in hot pink dresses, so i ended up putting them in black dresses w/ hot pink and orange flowers. it was still very bright and colorful!
  • Love, love, but I like orange better than the aquamarine too.

I have to disagree with putting the guys in the matching colors. To me that's too matchy matchy and definitely bordering way too much color. I would keep them in black vests or silver. Keep them neutral. They'll be thankful for it too!

LOVE the colors!  I do like the orange better though as well.  I would put the guys in black or dark grey vests and ties to keep them neutral.

We did 6 different pastel colors for our August wedding last year (same dress on all girls).  Our bouquets were a mix of pastels and looked great!

    Go for it!!!

black vests and a matching tie to each girl. Here are a few pics that someone sent me! Im not a fan of the color choices, but you get the idea!

  • I'm lovin the different colors, I was originally going to go with magenta, eggplum and cornflower for my 3 girls...but mom hated that idea and yes, I let her change my mind :P  Anyhow, definitely likeing the Fiesta better than Aqua like Chelsea pictured though.  Go for it girl!
