I fell in love with this extraordinary, romantic wedding gown the moment I laid eyes on it in a small boutique in Hudson, Ohio. The exquisite lace overlay atop silk charmeuse and the sweep train in back gave the dress just the right elegant feel. The only problem was the price: the list price of the dress on the Priscilla of Boston website is in the $3001-5000 category. (The gown, one of the most coveted from Melissa Sweet, has become one of the "Signature Styles" from Priscilla of Boston.) I found a woman named Alison online, however, who had worn it in her July 2007 wedding and was looking to resell it. I bought it from her using PayPal and received it in beautiful condition. I wore this dress just once, for 8 hours on the day of my own wedding in New Hampshire in June 2008. It was by far the most magical garment I've ever worn, and I hope to pass on to a new bride the good luck and the happiness that has carried this dress through two weddings now.
The only alteration I had done was the addition of a loop for a bustle (which did break during the dancing at my wedding). The dress is still in beautiful condition, with the exception of a minor tear in the lace in the back of the gown where the bustle broke.
The dress came with a very simple veil; I didn't wear it, but I'll gladly pass it along to you if you'd like. Overall, I paid $2200; I'm asking $1200 plus shipping. Contact me if you're interested or if you'd like more information, pics etc.
