Colour Help!

Hey guys,

I'm new to posting for forgive me if  I have put this in the wrong place. I need some colour help. I orginally had a bright green and fuchsia as my colours, but when shopping for paper for my DIY save the dates my FI and I found some really great paper that has a dusty red color in it. Dusty red really suits him and the bright green really suits me and its OUR wedding not just MY wedding so I think he should have a colour that suits him...rather than fuchsia. Haha. Anyway I love the colors for both of us and while they work...I'm worried they might be too christmasy!! AHHH! Not the theme I'm looking for!

I'm having a DW in Hawaii and orgnially wanted a tropical theme but now am leaning to a simple vintage picnic style. I'm thinking those classic picnic table clothes, pies, fresh fruit...BBQ. We are having a small wedding and I think the family would like this but I need some ideas on how to make green and red work. So far I have:

-Picnic tableclothes
-Strawberries
-Red flowers with green stems
-Drinks with lime or red fruits
-Mason jars with flowers ( if I can find out how to buy some jars and get them to the venue!!)

Any Ideas would help! I just realized how much I love the vintage 1950's style and just want to make everything cute, vintage and down to earth

Thanks!

Re: Colour Help!

  • I think this could totally work so long as you don't have anything too sparkly or add in any gold (to me those would definitely be Christmas, not vintage).

I agree with this.  Also, consider using more of a lime or pale green - that takes it away from "Christmas" and more towards vintage for me.

  • Thanks guys. I'm thinking of using lime green anyway so I hope it will work out. Maybe bring out some Limade!
