What bouquet colors match a gold/white dress?

My wedding dress is a mix of white and gold with beading all over the neckline.  I don't know what color bouquet to assemble to really make the gold stand out.  In researching bridesmaid dresses, I've seen orange flowers compliment a blue dress, yellow flowers compliment a purple dress, etc.  What direction shouold I go?  I don't have bridesmaids but have asked my sister and mom to wear purple.  If I'm holding a purple bouquet, I don't want to look like I'm a Laker girl. :)

  • a white/ivory bouquet would look nice.

  • White/ivory, I'd say.

I agree with the PPs....I'd stick with white/cream colored flowers.  When people see you or your photos, you want them to see YOU first, not some bright flowers that stand out.
  • I would probably do a nice baby's breath bouquet with this dress.  The gold is a beautiful detail and you don't want to make it look too busy with too much colour.  Baby's breath is so simple and the tiny white flowers with greenery, I think would be the best way to make your dress stand out.

  • That is a beautiful dress!  What about a single, large, long-stemmed white flower?

You might want to cross-post this question on the "Flowers" board (under Special Topics).  There may be some creative ideas there ...

    Good luck!
  • What about white flowers with purple stasice as an accent? And gold ribbon to tie the bouquet?
