"Picturing" your dress in the right size, not the sample size...

Hello all!

I have found several dresses that I like, but (like so many brides) I don't fit in a sample size. I am having some difficulty picturing what the dresses will look like on me in the right size. I am largest in my bust, which makes that area's fit the most important -- especially if it is a strapless dress.

Any helpful hints or thoughts you can offer?

  • look at other brides in your size in those gowns like check out bravobride
  • I have a large chest, too, so I understand what you're saying.  Is there a dress similar to the ones you love in the same line, that there is a sample size you fit into?  That can give you a better idea of how it will fit, even if it isn't the exact dress.

Also, I would try calling around to different bridal stores.  Many will carry samples on the lower (~4) and higher (~12) range of sizes, and each store doesn't necessarily carry the same size samples.  My advice is the same, even if you're 'plus sized'.  (I use that term loosely, as I tried on dresses 3 sizes bigger than I normally am that were too small!)
