Knee Update!

FI had his 3 month post-op appointment with his surgeon this week and he was amazed! He said FI is almost fully healed and should be ready for training camp in early June rather than Game 2 or 3 in July/August. This is unbelieveable, that will make it a 5 month recovery instead of a 6-8 month minimum! The guy had both ligmanets, meniscus and cartilage repaired! He started running yesterday and feels really good! It's pretty awesome what hard work, an amazing surgeon and good trainers can do! Just wanted to share his progress!

What surgeon did he see? My FI just hurt his knee skiing and had an MRI done this week. Results next week... We're really hoping he doesn't need surgery!

He saw Dr. Mark Heard who is the surgeon for the Canadian Olympic Ski teams here in Alberta. We live in Canada though so that probably won't help you! When I tore my MCL and broke my wrist in High School (I grew up in NH), I went to Dr. Mayo Noerdlinger at Sports Medicine in Portsmouth. He was really great!

Sorry to hear about your FI, I hope he doesn't have to have surgery!

Glad to hear that he's healing so well. He'll still have to be careful because once it happens, it seems to happen a lot easier.

Very true, it will most likely happen again. A lot of guys that play his position go through it 2-3 times during their pro-career!
