NWR: Internet Providers

Hello! I don't normally post here since I am a Boston bride, however FI and I will be moving to Nashua in just about a month and so I had a quick question for all of you NH girls!

I was wondering what type of internet provider you all have? I currently have Verizon here in MA, but I called and found out that today that Verizon is not available in NH, so I'm not sure who else to look at? I'm not a big fan of Comcast and their prices seem awful high...anyways, so I was wondering what all of you have for internet provided and/or what you recommend?

Thanks :)

I have Comcast.  But I used to have Verizon FIOS before we switched to Comcast.  So I'm not sure where you heard there's not Verizon.

FI and I are in the Portsmouth area and have Comcast, and while their customer service sucks we haven't had many issues that we've needed them for anyway.  My next door neighbors used to have Fairpoint and switched to Comcast because they were incredibly unhappy with both the internet speeds and the customer service there, but that may just be our area.

FWIW, Fairpoint "is" Verizon - they purchased Verizon's service in Maine and NH, among other areas, so if you're interested in keeping the "same" service you have, that would be where you want to go.

I live in Nashua and we currently use Comcast, although we used to have Verizon.  In some areas of Nashua, Verizon is available....but not always FIOS.  It just depends on what part of town you live in.  You can check with Verizon to find out if the area that you're moving to is covered by their service.  We've been pretty pleased with Comcast, although I hear you about how expensive it is---we got a "tripple play" combo package, which is why it made sense for us to use them.
