Has anyone used both that can say whether or not spanx are better or if they are the same?

Funny you should ask. I have used both and just yesterday I wore my 'Asset' for my bridal shower. The 'Asset' is good if you want light support--like just for smoothing out the bumps and lumps. You can't really even tell they're on. 'Spanx' are for serious support and you know they are on. 'Spanx' suck things in, so I got them for my wedding gown. I got the high-waisted 'Spanx' PLUS a long-line bra (I'm not messin' around!).
Assets is a less expensive version of Spanx - made by the same company. Spanx gets sold in higher priced retailers, Assets get sold in places like Target.
portia, that is good to know! I don't want to mess around for my wedding, either, so I may go and get some spanx.
jkjwfu, thank you I knew that I was asking about quality of product.

marian... I think maybe it's like a corset bra? but it has bra clasps in the back, not string.

Long line bras are the kind they give you to use when you are at teh bridal salon. They are like corsets but have the cups built in. Its basically a bra that has boning in it to help shape your waist.
Portia, do you have any problem with either of these two rolling down from the top or do they have boning in them to keep that from happening?
I bought both Spanx and Assets to try under a BM dress a couple of months ago and was disappointed with the Assets. I got the super-strength ones and they were just made of sturdy nylon/pantyhose material. I also found that the seams were too bumpy to go under my satin dress. I ended up returning the Assets and sticking with the seam-free Spanx with no seam at the front or top.
