DIY Bustle

I am needing to get my dress bustled but live out of state and my dress is in my home state, which is also where i'm having the wedding. I'm only able to be home a little bit before the wedding but David's Bridal is already booked for their alterations. I'd like to just do it myself. My train is not that long and I'd just like to hook it with ribbion up and under my dress. I don't like the look of the ripples on the dress. Is this something I'd be able to do? I thought if I played around with it I could find a way to easily pull the train up off the floor. What to you all think?

There are youtube videos and online tutorials, but if you aren't familiar with sewing, I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself (no matter how "easy" it looks).
