Where are you buying your shoes?

I think we may have just had a post about this...but I"m trying to shoe shop later today and tomorrow and need help.

Happy Friday!

I'm trying to get a high heel for my professional pics.  I normally don't wear a high heel so I'm worried I'll fall on my face walking up and down the asile.  I tried 2 payless shoe stores (apparently not every one has the bridal section and dyable shoes), marshalls and off broadway shoes with a 2 floor store.  I'm ok with not wearing white shoes...but just curious where you're finding them or where I should look?  I don't really want to spend a lot as I know I'll never wear these again and not even that long on my wedding day.

PS I got 4 RSVP's in the mail last night and my invites just went out last Thursday!!! I'm so shocked with the holiday!  Only 58 more to go but how exciting to get your first ones!

I got mine at DSW and they weren't too bad, price wise.

If you usually don't wear high heels, I would suggest looking at DSW and department stores. Payless high heels won't be comfortable. When you do end up buying the pair, practice practice practice. I know you wrote you'll only be wearing them for a short time, but you want to make sure you are comfortable, especially if you have to stand for any extended period of time.

Macy's also carries a lot of nice heels/sandals, and usually in the lighter shades (whites/silvers/ivories) this time of year.  You might even find a coupon to use there, too!

Thank you ladies!  My coworker suggested Macy's, I know they're one of the only ones you can still get someone to wait on you (and come on who doesn't love that?).  I was thinking maybe silver so I could try to wear them again.  I'm trying to avoid hallow to hem alterations which cost a fortune so I need a heel that gets me at least as high as I am on my tippy toes, but not too thin of a heel so I don't break my ankle!

How much were you quoted for the hollow to hem measurement?

I thought the hollow to hem measurement was totally worth it ($100 extra on my gown at MD). My gown has a ton of beading at the bottom that would have been lost with hemming it (I'm 5'2"). I thought the difference between the measurement and hemming, which my gown did not need, was worth the extra cost.

That's a good point.  My dress is all beading on the bottom front and really detailed train.  I didn't trust the shop to order it hallow to hem and have it come in right plus I didn't know if I wanted heel or flat so I figured I'd wait...The dress shop told me it's 125 for hallow to hem but i'm not sure if that's when ordering the dress or nora's alterations (their website says hem is 100-190 depending on the dress)...my first fitting is tomorrow but I'm trying to have the right shoes ahead of time.  I guess if you're going to spend up to 50 for shoes why not just spend the 100 and be comfortable and able to walk! I just don't want to spend anymore money.  I'd be much more comfortable in a lower heel sandal with a little more flare, then a comfortable flat for the reception that no one will see/nor care about.  I'll have to see what they say tomorrow morning but I think if it's reasonable I'll just go with the lower heel.  Thanks for the tip!

I ordered mine from Paradox London. They were reasonably priced ($80) but the heel is 4 inches. For someone who doesn't wear heels regularly, that may be too high. I could run a marathon in heels, so 4 inches was fine for me. GL and have fun finding shoes!!!!

I'm weating flat ballet bridal slipper things. FI is 6'5, so the height of a heel won't help me much anyway! But I got them online at shoes.com  They even had free shipping!

I got mine from shoebuy.com.  Had a coupon code I found online.  Plus it is free shipping and free returns so I figured that I would take the chance.  I had no luck finding them in the store.

I got my shoes at David's Bridal.  I didn't want a huge heel and was debating on a color or off-white.  I found a cute little pair for about $39.00.

Most bridal stores also carry wedding, shoes, Modern Bride in Bedford had a decent selection and alot of the sizes were available at the store (no waiting to order)
