Wedding bands came in... =(

We got the call that our bands had come in (special order) and, needless to say, I was biting at the bit to go get them. FI's is perfect! Mine, however, didn't fit! My topaz solitare E ring is a 6.5 and since this was a plain band I tried on their sizers and ordered a 6, which fit perfectly and even a little snug.

My band was way too big! Sent it back for a 5.5 (since it's tungsten you can't resize it) and now--since it's almost V-day [and my b-day, haha]--I have to wait almost an entire month. It took 5 days the first time...

I'm very impatient. Lol. Just wondering, did any of you have such different sizing? I mean, that's really wierd. A 6.5 E ring and a 5.5 band? Huh?

Here's pics if your curious:

His
Mine. I needed tungsten because I'm really, really hard on things. Gold and I definitely don't get along. =D

  • Ring sizes are like shoe sizes - standard.

Was the ring made out of the country?  A 5.5 in the US/Canada is not the same as a 5.5 in Italy.

Did you try the ring on in the summer first?  Fingers swell in the summer and tend to be smaller in the winter.

Did the jeweler measure your finger and the ring?  Maybe it was just mis-labeled or something.

Good luck!  I was so excited to get my wedding ring and then it just sat in a box for months.  You'll have it soon enough!!
  • Finger swelling due to weather or activity level could play a part.  If I'm active in the heat I take my ering off my finger swells so much, then in the winter it is too big.

I got my wedding band in last week.  My plain band is a size 6 and fits just about perfect, while my E ring is a 6.75 and fits about the same way.  I think with those rings it is because the ering has a wider band.

Sorry you're going through this. I find my fingers are also a little larger in the summer, but not an entire size. Is it possible there was a paperwork error somewhere along the way?

  • I noticed that although my e-ring and wedding band fit, they don't fit when stacked together and I will need to get my e-ring resized.  As much as you're anxious to have your wedding ring it will all be okay in the long run as long as you'll have the right size in time for your wedding.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • The tungsten bands are "comfort fit" so they fit a little larger than regular sizing, FI had to get a size smaller than what he was quoted at the jeweler.

  • Thanks guys... It's just really odd. =D
