Second thoughts

So here's the deal,
My wedding is at the end of June and we bought my dress a few weeks ago. We are getting the dress directly from the store, but the dress stays ithere until I go back for alterations. So here's my problem....
I'm having major second thoughts about the dress and although I do think its pretty, I'm wondering if its the right one. I never had the "Ah Hah" moment and I'm wondering if that's normal or if I'm just freaking out ?

Re: Second thoughts

  • I've met many brides who never had "the moment"  with their dress, so you may just be thinking too much. (I think most of us do at some point) I'm sure its gorgeous - something made you love it to make you buy it, right? Worst case - it doesn't sound like it's a special order - do you have room to change your mind?
  • Never had the "ah hah" moment with my dress and no matter what dress I could have tried on I doubt I would ever have that moment.  I'm just not that way with clothes.  Trust your first instinct when you purchased the dress and don't look at any other dresses.

  • I am going through a similar thing and just yesterday I decided that I really was forcing myself to like the dress that I bought because the people who went with me to pick it out all loved it. I never really loved it as much as they did, but I thought it might grow on me. Just tried it on again and realized that I'm just not comfortable in it. So as much of a pain and cost as it's going to be, I'm going to start looking again. In a day when you can't control very much, the dress is the one thing you should feel fantastic about!
  • I hear you on this.  I'm going through the same thing with my dress.  I have always considered myself very traditional and really wanted lace on my gown.  I ended up going with a sleek modern dress that is not anything I ever would have picked before trying it on (see my VEIL HELP!!! post).  Now I'm trying to find a way to force this dress to become "me" with accessories.  But...like my groom...despite any discrepencies, it is a great fit, and I shouldn't nit-pick all the shoulda, coulda, woulda's...
  • I bought my dress also and my wedding isn't until April 2011... I think that feeling is normal just because you don't have the dress with you and you kind of forget how you looked in it and how it made you feel when it was on. This happened to my friend too but on her wedding day she fell in love with it all over again! The shop I bought my dress from said I can come in whenever I want just to put it on lol so maybe doing that will make you feel better. =]
