Brown Tuxedos? PIP

I have picked BM dresses in four different colors, all jewel tones and I am really excited for the way that is going to look. Here's the problem, I really don't like black with those colors! The GM are going to wear vests & ties that match the BM they escort down the aisle and with some of the colors, black just DOES NOT go...I was looking around and saw some brown tuxes, but I am wondering if that is too out there. Do ya'll think it will be weird? Here is an example from Men's Warehouse:

Honest opinions needed! I am not dedicated to this idea, in fact I am not sure how I feel about it at all, so no hurt feelings. Also, if anyone has any other ideas, I would love to know!

My BIL had brown tuxes at his wedding, and it actually looked great. Their colors were champagne, chocolate, and orange, and the combination worked well with brown tuxes.

ETA: While I have seen brown tuxes look nice in this one instance, I am not normally a fan. I think they have the potential to become the next powder blue leisure suit, and become very dated very quickly.

  • I don't like brown tuxes. They just never look good.

Why doesn't black go with jewel tones?
  • I am not a fan of brown tuxes. I think black is more classic and timeless.
  • I love love love Brown Tuxs! We will be doing brown or a lighter brown.

I think those would look beautiful with your BM dresses!

  • I also don't like brown tuxes.  How does brown go wtih jewel tones, but not black?

My wedding colors were jewel tones and we had black tuxes.
  • I have classic taste.  If you are wearing a tuxedo, I think it should be black.  But there is nothing wrong with suits in gray, brown, tan, etc.
  • I do not like brown tuxes.

Black is a neutral so by definition, it goes with everything.

  • We had brown tuxes, by Calvin Klein, and I loved the look. If you and FI like it, I'd say go for it.

  • I'm not a fan of brown tuxes.

I'm not a fan of colored vests either.  Maybe you would like the look of black tuxes if you just had the tie colored and black or grey vests?

I think tux's should always be black. But I like the classic look. I also hate colored vests.
