Has anyone had their groom wear Ecko black sneakers?

We picked out our tuxes last night, and they had these Ecko black sniny sneakers as a footwear option. Has anyone used them? Is it noticable that the men are wearing sneakers?

These are what I'm talking about: http://www.tttux.com/shoes.php?cdf=96

  • Be warned that this is not going to go over well. Sneakers are not proper wedding attire. FWIW I think those are hideous.

  • Agree with Hoboken, sneakers are not appropriate attire for a wedding, and I think those are awful.

  • Not a fan at all (picture made me cringe a little, honestly) but that's me.

  • Ditto to the other posters. Tuxes are formal wear and required formal footwear. Those shoes look like what I was forced to wear when I waited tables.

Oh God no. It's just so stupid to wear sneakers because you want to be "cute" or "unique" Sneakers have no place at a wedding and look horrible with formal attire.

I wish my mom would've smacked some sense into me when I was 15. (I wore Jordans with my quinceanera dress)
  • They look terrible. please please please please dont' have him wear thise. Talk him out of it.

  • Now y'all always claim it's his day also. S o if he wants to wear sneakers let him. People talk about men wearing tacky camo vests and ties. What's the difference?

  • those shoes are horrible, and anyone who says that they won't even know that they are sneakers is lying to you.

And yes, these are just as bad as camo tuxes or vests or TOMS or converse.

There is no difference. DH wore Jordans after the ceremony- to the reception. I was fine with that but I would have killed him if he wore them during the ceremony.  Also if the groom insists on wearing sneakers there are a million better looking pairs.

  • These particular shoes are awesome, my fiancee bought a pair to wear (just not for the wedding) and everywhere he goes-other men notice them and compliment him and ask where did you get those shoes.  They are patent leather-and the texture is not anything like the regular sneakers.
So before you decide, check them out in person, they are unusual shoes indeed!! Also hard to find, in fact they may be discontinued.

My partner did the same thing.   the sneakers were very cute and new.  And we got married in a park... so, sneakers weren't out of place there.  BUT, that was for the reception. I would have flipped my sh*t if I saw my partner or anyone in the wedding party in sneakers during the ceremony.
  • Personally, I am not a fan of those shoes.  But if you don't care if FI is in sneakers, and he wants to wear them, then go for it.

  • I have to be honest....

I'm confused about this entire board right now LOL

What I don't get is who exactly has decided what is and what is not tacky for someone's wedding?

I personally would not like it if my FI wanted to wear a camo tux (and trust me this has come up because he is a hill billy and a hunter lol)

I just don't understand why that is considered tacky if #1 it goes with the feel they are looking for and #2 its what they want?!
