Same dye lot

Do you really need to order all your BM dresses at the same time to get the same dye lot?  I was just telling my girls to order them online themselves so they aren't reliant on anyone else.  I didn't think being part of the same lot would be important.  It has a chifon overlay ontop and I am not sure what the base layer is.  Should I be concerned?

Thanks.

Re: Same dye lot

  • All four of my bridesmaids ordered different dresses (same color and designer) from an online dealer on different days.  Likely, they weren't cut from the same dye lot.  They all looked fine...no noticeable differences.

  • What color is it?  Some colors are harder to dye accurately than others.

But most manufacturers control their dye lots via computer, so they come out pretty standardized.  I'd be really surprised if there were any noticeable difference.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Salons tell you that mostly so that you will buy all the dresses from them, rather than going to all different places. Why sell you just one BM dress if they can sell you six?

  • I had my girls order different dresses in different colors of red from different designers, in hopes of having an array of different reds. In the end, they all looked exactly the same. There were minor differences, but I doubt anyone but me would have noticed.  I doubt anyone will notice very slight variations if your girls don't order from the same dye lot.
