Wedding band w/ halo e-ring

I've been agonizing over this for ages.  I am completely in love with my engagement ring.  It's a 1.25 emerald cut center stone, with a halo and double edged band.  My fiance and I designed it using the stone from my mother's engagement ring and it's exactly how I wanted it.

So now it's time to go wedding ring shopping/designing.  I have my great grandmother's ring and my original plan was to have her stones reset.  If I did that, the ring would probably look something like this in the end.

But I feel like wearing those two rings together on one hand would look somewhat ridiculous.  Agree/disagree?  No offense to anyone who has one, but I despise those cut-out wedding bands, the kind that kind of dip down and around the halo.  Should I just wear the wedding ring on my left hand and move the engagement ring to my right?  Should I scrap the plan to use my great grandmother's stones and just get a simple plain or pave band to wear on the same hand as my engagement ring, or would that look a bit silly too?  Am I overthinking this whole thing and getting all stressed out of nothing?  (That last one is most likely true anyway)

Opinions/suggestions welcome!

I think that´s what you should do, I have a friend who married a German, and she wears her rings like that.... very European

  • Yup, going with the engagement ring on my right hand and wedding band on my left.  Spoke to the jewler and the ring they're going to make out of my great grandmother's ring is going to be beautiful!  I'm so excited about it, and it'll definitely be interesting enough to stand on it's own.  Thanks for the input ladies!  :)
