My FMIL doesn't want to buy a new dress for our wedding this summer. My DF says that he has encouraged his mother a couple of times to get a new dress, but she thinks she'll just pull out an old dress to wear. I think it's important that she wears a nice new dress to the wedding and for our professional pictures (particularly since she can afford one and DF is her only child!). She lives in Canada on the opposite side of the continent from me, so I won't see her until the wedding and I don't talk to her regularly since I don't know her very well yet. This seems pretty unbelievable to me since I imagine that I would want to look great if I had kids and they were getting married. DF says he's already talked to her a couple of times, so it's just up to her to choose whether to get a new dress or not, but I think she really needs to get something new. Am I completely crazy? Anyone have any advice on this situation? I'm really not sure what to do. Thanks!
