Davids bridal complaint

I have a huge complaint about the Davids bridal in Lafayette IN! Cant find any contact information to complain and that is my main goal!
I made an appointment 2 months ago for my Bridesmaids to pick out dresses and ordered. Along with 3 flower girl dresses! After already purchasing my wedding dress from them. They tried to change my appointment the day before which was not possible due to some of the girls traveling from other areas.
When we arrived we were told they were really busy which was fine with us we did not mind sharing dressing rooms among ourselves. I had prepared a list of 12 to 13 dresses to try on. The consultant we had only pulled 2 dresses and disappeared. She occasionally reappeared to see if we needed anything. But at that point I was so aggrevated i already had picked out more dresses on my own. She never got our flower girl dresses that I went and picked out on my own.
She instead was helping another that walked in and walked out without purchasing anything. We on the other hand purchased 3 of my 6 briidesmaid dresses and of my 3 flowergirl dresses. The rest of the wedding party is purchasing at stores in tennesee and texas!
This is not my first bad experience with this store...when my dress was purchased the girl was new and this same woman was very rude and snotty to her. Instead of helping her she just yelled at her and my bridesmaid pulled dresses for me! I still have a junior bridesmaid dress to purchase and 2 mothers dresses and they all need to come from there so it will match and I am very upset by this!
When I went to their website there is nowhere to send feedback or omments so if anyone knows how to do this please let me know

Re: Davids bridal complaint

  • I would personally just call and speak to the manager, and if that doesn't go anywhere, ask for their store # and straight up ask for their customer service/comments hotline phone number. Google doesn't show much when I tried to find it myself, but like all chains, they have to have someone to answer to, somewhere...
  • I would also just call the store you went to and ask for the manager.  I had a bad experience with a David's Bridal here in California so I know how you feel.  My bridesmaid had to help me put on dresses because our consultant was "busy" with a walk in appt.....I had made my appt. a month before....we were there a lot longer than we should of been...the walk in appt. also left before us and also didn't purchase anything.  I bought my dress, 4 bridesmaid dresses and 2 flower girl dresses...I wish i could of given the commision to my bridesmaid because she did all the work! lol

It doesn't end there, I live 4 hours away from the Davids Bridal I went to, I only went to that one because my mom lived by it and I wanted her to go with me of course, so I wanted my dress and all the accessories shipped to me....did that happen?  NO!  I got an email saying it was ready for pick up in the store...the hell I'm gonna drive 4 hours! lol

I called the store and talked to the manager who appologized and they mailed my stuff out that same day which was Thursday and I got my stuff on Saturday.

  • Thanks so much! I love my dress and dresses WE picked out....just the customer service sucks! We have another one not to far the other direction so i might go there for my next purchase
  • Customer service varies quite widely with DB locations.  I go to the one in Brea when I need anything and have never had a problem, but SSIL had nonstop issues with the Long Beach location.  Definitely report them to corporate if the manager won't help, and in the future, take your business elsewhere.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • That's the thing about Davids that I don't think a lot of brides realize.  Yes they are cheaper, and they have a big selection, but for that lower price you are sacrificing the great customer service that most brides expect to feel.  I didn't buy my dress from there since I bought the 2nd one I tried on at a small salon.  I've never been in there when it wasn't crazy, but I had picked my BMs dresses out online before going in so they just tried on the few and ordered the one they wanted.  My mom got her dress from there and was able to buy off the rack.  If you go during the day on a weekday with an appointment its usually much quieter.  And you can't go in there expecting much.

Are you having the mother's match the BMs?  Personally I think thats wierd, but if you aren't then there is no reason that they need to go there too.

I went to one here in Maryland on a weekday in the morning and the customer service was horrid.  The store was dirty and my consultant looked like she had just rolled out of bed.

[QUOTE]you get what you pay for (not that that's a bad thing)!  they are like the walmart of the wedding industry, low prices, low expectations for customer service!  like anywhere else there are great sales people and awful sales people but i guess DB's focus is on quantity not quality.  As PP's mentioned you can't go in there expecting much.  I paid a visit there for BM's dresses as well and am still considering using them (they have the exact style color i wanted), just going during the weekday if possible to try to ease some of the madness!!

I think that you are making a huge generalization here.    While that may be true for some DB stores, it definitely is not true for all.  I had a great experience at the store we went to and I got my dress, my BM dresses, FG dress, and both moms got their dresses there and we got GREAT customer service.   The store I went to had great salespeople that were a pleasure to work with.    As for their prices, they are not as cheap as you make it sound like.   We actually looked at a few other places and the prices for BM dresses were not that much cheaper.   And I have to admit the service we received at DB was much better than a few of the smaller salons we visited where the salespeople were snobby and very pushy.

I think you make a great point about avoiding the weekends, because it is always crowded then and the salespeople will be more readily aviailable on the weekdays to help.
  • I had a great experience at DB.  Me and MOH walked in without an appt on a weekend.  They said they would do their best to fit us in.  They asked that we not pull any bridal gowns but said we could pull and try on BM dresses (my MOH is also a bride and I'm in her wedding).  When they were able to get to us I already had a list of 4 dresses to try on.  The consultant pulled 3 to start with and I went with #2, never even pulled the 4th dress.  She was quick, she was effcient, and very nice.  I had the wrong shoes for my first fitting (my fault) so when I went in for the final the skirt was still too long.  They fixed the hem right there with me still in the dress.  It's a pick up skirt so they don't turn the hem up, instead they lift the pick ups.

The thing about chain stores is the service and even quality of the product sometimes can range greatly from store to store.  Especially if they are franchises.

  • Yeah, our consultant was amazing.  I went with a friend to shop for wedding gowns for the both of us, and our one consultant was able to keep our two separate styles straight and got us through several gowns very quickly.  I've definitely had hit-or-miss service with them, but at the store where I actually found my gown, it was great.

  • I personally hated David's Bridal. The salon by me was dirty and falling apart, the workers there were unprofessional and i felt like the dresses were cheap. I've had friends find beautiful dresses there and they loved their experiences so it could've just been me, but I would never recommend anyone to go Davids Bridal.
