Where NOT to get THE dress...

Please, think twice about going to davids bridal on miller road in flint, michigan. They are horrible! Liars! They purposely scam you out of hundreds and will lie straight to your face! I did not find my style of dress at group usa in great lakes crossing, but they were sooo nice. They worked with you, let my sister help me with putting them on, and didnt pressure me at all. The lady actually made sure I looked around before I bought the veil I love. At davids bridal they tried to tell me the sale.ended that day, and the dress was going to be discontinued. After a little research.i found out that they just got that dress in! New for spring 2012. They made my expierience their so horrible I almost quit and changed to a courthouse wedding. contstantly opening my dressing room door and leaving it open for all who walked in the front door to see, the woman kept trying to touch me, and even walked up and stuck her.hand down my dress. Repeatedly I asked her to please quit touching me...to no avail. please think twice about going to davids bridal there, that branch was horrible.

Re: Where NOT to get THE dress...

  • While the OP was careful to specify that particular branch of David's Bridal, I do feel the need to say that it is specific to that branch.  I just went to the one in Westbury, NY today, and they were absolutely great.  They didn't pressure me at *all,* gave just the right combination of attention and keeping their distance; they offered valuable advice and worked hard to help me get what I wanted (sleeves on a strapless gown in this case).  They also worked to get me every single discount they could, and even let me ring a bell when I picked my dress.  All the staff passing by even were really sweet and complimented me in the dress--I felt really special there, and I thought that wouldn't be achieved at David's Bridal, a giant wedding warehouse.  I felt my experience there was even better than a little boutique in Brooklyn I also went to.

I also have to say, their dresses are reasonably priced, but their Oleg Cassini line is much more luxe than the price tag.  There's some really lovely work on those dresses (one of which I ended up buying).
