If the groomsmen are wearing blue vests to match the bridesmaids, is the groom supposed to wear a blue vest as well to match his groomsmen or does he wear white to match me?

I think it doesnt matter either way. What does your FI like? Get his thoughts on the colors. He can match you or the other guys. We didnt have vests but my DH and his BM wore the same color purple tie, and my MOH was in a different shade of purple.

he can wear whatever he wants.  our groomsmen wore eggplant colored vests and my husband wore all black with white tie to match me

Good question. I'm personally not sure what the correct answer would be but I've seen grooms wear the same vest as his groomsmen but then have a different color tie, boutonniere or even style of lapel. Either way you want him to stand out from the groomsmen. What are your wedding colors?

It depends on how you want him to look. My FI wants to look different than the GM. So his tx has 3 button the GM have 2. FI will be wearing a black tux with a Silver vest and a purple tie (he's matching me....my dress has beads and crystals with silver thread plus my shows are purple) The GM will be wearing a purple vest with silver ties. The Father's will wear Black vest's with purple ties. It just depends on if he wants to look different

My wedding colors are Watermelon and Turquoise/Aqua so the bridesmaids will be in Watermelon and the groomsmen will be in Turquoise. Maybe the groomsmen can wear the Euro tie and my FI can wear a bow tie? The ties will probably be the same color as the vests (Turquoise).

our colors were pink and green...BMs in pink, MOH and FG in green. our GM had pink vests, our BM had a green vest so they went together. H wore an ivory vest, and then he wanted a pink/green striped tie, which took FOREVER to find...yes, we checked everywhere, and finally found it on amazon. it looked really nice.

Our colors are plum and silver.  The guys are wearing plum, as well as the girls, but my FH is wearing a silver vest.  IMO I think the groom should stand out from the other guys.  You're going to stand out by wearing all white, why should he be dressed the exact same as the guys not getting married?  If you don't want to introduce another color, I would say white or black would work, but obviously it's your decision.

I think it doesn't matter. IMO it looks better when the groom stands out wearing just white or ivory.
