I decided to look online for my dress just to get an idea of the style I liked.  Well I found a dress that I fell in love with.  Granted I'd like to try it on.  The problem is that I've called a bunch of bridal stores in Illinois, some in Wisconsin and none seem to carry a sample of the dress.  Any suggestions on what to do?  Has anyone else blindly bought a dress online without trying it on first? HELP!

    If you can't try it on I would atleast try on similar styles. Did you find out if any of those store can order a sample for you to try on? I think sometimes they will do that. They will most likely charge you but if it's not too much then it would be better than ordering it and deciding you hate it..

    Is it an older style of dress? I think it's unusual that you ca'nt find a sample in Chicago - I would imagine you could find every style of dress there!

    I would check some bridal stores to see if you can find something you like just as much/more that you can try on... and use the online one as a fall back.

    Have you tried on any dresses at all? If not, I would recommend going shopping in person and trying on dresses in a style similar to the one you like. Bring a picture. :)

    It often happens that what actually looks good on your body is TOTALLY different than what you go in thinking will look good.

    I declared over and over that I would "never" get a strapless wedding gown, and ended up with a strapless wedding gown. :)

    I'm not sure if it's an older style! It's still on the designers website & house of brides.  Thank you for the suggestions! I am waiting to hear back from one bridal store to see if she can get a sample - fingers crossed!

    I was really shocked by how different dresses looked on me than in photos or on hangers.  Based on my shopping experience, I just couldn't bring myself to buy online.  Even if it's a similar style, the cut may be different.  I know some women have luck that way, but it's tricky!
