Final dress fitting almost meltdown....

Went to pick up my dress and learn how to do the bustle today. When I first saw my dress I almost cried. They told me it would be aisle ready but when I saw it the dress was SOOOO wrinkly! They tried to convince me that it was the designer and the fabric.... I was like NO! I can whip out the Vera Wang advertisement and photo on the website that looks MUCH different. (granted it will never look like the photo but the dress looked awful!)

Turned out after arguing with them for an hour that they never even steamed the pleats! (even though they swore up and down that they had)  They made a fuss about how the pleats will become loose and they won't be as crisp.... we finally got them to say they would steam and press everything. Who in the world sells a dress that they can't properly make isle ready (like they promise) without a fight!?

I'm really not the crying type but I was like if this is how my dress will look the day of then I'm going to break down. Thank the lord we figured out they were just idiots.

  • Oh boy.  I hate when people do that.  You know they're wrong but they won't admit it and you have to argue with them forever!

I'm glad it all worked out and I'm sure you're dress will look amazing once they get their heads out of their a$$!

  • That's ridiculous, where did this occur, a Davids Bridal? I couldn't see giving a dress to a bride that is wrinkled and needs to be steamed after all the alterations.  I hope you were able to take it home with you last night.

  • Oh no, Robot! I hope that after they fix your dress that it will look just like you hoped it would.

  • I would have freaked out too. they are pros you would think they would show that professionalism with every bride
  • ugh, this really sucks. was it at david's? I have heard so many similar stories about their alterations department!
  • I got my davids bridal dress back unsteamed non isle ready too.

  • Yes, it was at Davids. I should've expected something to go wrong seeing as how everything had gone fairly smoothly with them. This seems to be a fairly common theme for them. When I went in for my first fitting they had a girl balling because the consultant quoted her an alterations cost and it was completely different... I didn't get to take my dress hom last night because the steam and press will take quite some time considering the detail in the dress. We're getting it tonight though.

  • I had a bad experience at David's. I'm not surprised. UGH!! Glad you got things all worked out!
