Flower Girl Dress #1 or #2

My dress is an organza sweetheart with a beaded sash, and my bridesmaids are wearing a dress sweetheart chiffon.

Stuck between two flower girl dresses in ivory...which do you think would be best? She is an older bridesmaid who will be at the age of 10 at the time of the wedding.

Dress 1

Dress 2 (without wings haha)

  • Thanks for any comments you have too! I really appreciate it!

  • I actually think the necklines of the two dresses are comparable.  The straps just show more of the shoulder in option 1.  I actually voted for the first one.  Dress 2 is one I've seen on toddlers and very young flower girls and I think a 10 year old would like the first better, while still being appropriate.

  • Depending on the girl the necklines might not work.  Just like for women, different styles work on different bodie.  The neckline of the second one would have looked terrible on my girls when they were that age.  They were tall (one over five feet) and slim, the wide straps would have overwhelmed their frames.  It would be best to find dresses the girl can try on to see what looks good on her.
  • Thanks for the feedback! I would so love for her to try the dresses on, but most stores do not have them in size 14. :( So I sort of have to take a good guess at what would look good on her.
  • I like the second dress because of the colour. I really dislike all white FG dresses. The whole "mini-bride" think kind of creeps me out.

  • I like #1!!!! It's so sweet and elegant! The perfect flower girl dress :D
Flowers and jewelry and veils, oh my!
  • Is she a flower girl or a bridesmaid?  The title says flower girl, the post says she is an "older bridesmaid".

  • I like the second one better.

Rather than buying a dress through a bridal store, I'd look in department stores.  Easter and communion dresses will be coming in very soon.  The two advantages are you can try the dresses on, and the prices are much lower.  You (or the flower girl's parents) could look in stores like Justice,  my girls wore dresses from Old Navy in a friend's wedding when they were little.
  • Whoops! She is an older flower girl, so I refer to her as my flower maiden. Thanks for all of your tips and ideas for other places to find dresses. :)
