beach 'shoes'?

We are having a destination wedding in Hawaii, and I already bought a beautiful pair of heels to wear after the ceremony, but I need ideas for beach appropriate (i.e., no pointy 'sink-in-the-sand' heel) footwear.

The other shoes have about a 3 1/2 inch heel, so I was thinking maybe a wedge heel so I am not tripping on my dress? However, I am not sure if I maybe I want something I can slip on and off (vs. strapped on) for ease of walking. I do know I want something; to at least get from the car/parking lot to the beach (or potentially to avoid hot sand), and also for when we are walking around non-sandy areas taking photos. Has anyone seen anything that might fit the bill? Oh, and speaking of that - I would rather keep it under $40 so I am not breaking the bank.

I am wearing the Allure 8800 gown in cafe/ivory, so I was thinking maybe a simpler design as to not overdo it with my dress...

You may actually want something strapped on so you don't slip out of them while walking on the sand.

I would recommend a wedge with a strap for the ankle so they don't slip off your feet while walking in the sand.

About six months ago, I was a bridesmaid in a wedding on the beach in HI. The bride got us white flip flops to wear on the beach and it was a pain to walk in. The sand kept getting into the shoes and they kept falling off. I felt like a lumberjack walking in the sand. I don't recommend them. I think either barefoot or strappy sandals.
