Veils?

I'm looking through veils and even different "headpieces," and I'm toying with the idea of not having a veil at all.
I know it's kind of unconventional--especially with me wanting a rather traditional ceremony--but is it really all that weird?

What are options you're considering? Anyone else doing no veil?

Re: Veils?

  • A lot of ladies don't wear veils.  It's just a personal preference.  I decided that I wanted to wear a veil because this would be the one and only time that I could.  I don't think it would look weird if you didn't have one.

  • I am actually thinking about the same thing as well. I am having a very relaxed wedding ceremony so I feel that going without a veil will not really be that big of a deal. However, I think that if you have a very traditional ceremony you might want to think about having a veil. You don't even have to have the veil go over your face. Maybe you like the idea of having it just fall down your back. Ultimately it is your decision. If you don't want a veil don't have one.
I think that this picture is a good way to still be a little bit traditional by wearing a veil and modern at the same time. This is probably where I would place my veil if I decided to have one.
  • I bought a very short, shoulder length veil. Its 20" x 108" white.  I plan to place it like shown above in agustafson's post.  I got mine from www.weddingbedazzle.com
It was $23.99 and I've seen the same veil for $60 and above in stores, both online and retail.

  • Or you can wear a flower!
  • I definitely like those ideas! Thank you so much. I talked to my man, and he's telling me he wants me to wear one, so I guess there's my decision. But I definitely like that picture as inspiration! :) I still want to have some sort of flower or something in my hair, but maybe I'll save that for the reception.
