Finding the Right Shoe

I am having a hard time finding a shoe that I absolutely love. Every time I try to look I always end up somewhat overwhelmed with all the options. It's also hard trying to find a style of shoe to fit the style of my dress without overpowering it much. The shoes I get though, I want to be red. My boquet is all red and my dress looks like this...

So far, my biggest dilemma is, do I go with a a shoe that is red and plain? Or do you think I can go red and still add a little something like a flower or some kind of applique?

Re: Finding the Right Shoe

  • IMO, your shoes don't have to match anything. Our colors are orange and gray and I had a cute pair of shoes dyed orange, than I had mom attach a brooch. Go with whatever you like be it red, lime green, aqua whatever.

  • My dilema was deciding between ivory to match my dress, or purple (aubergine) to match my wedding colours. I was concerned about wearing an ivory shoe again and as a result of this I was leaning towards a colour shoe.

I eventually found my shoe when I wasn't even looking. And I only tried it on at the insistence of my bridesmaids (we were out sorting out their dresses). It didnt knock me over, but I came back to try it on on two additional occasions. I was in love!

Take someone whith who may push your limits for what you would try, and dont go with the intention of finding it or matching anything else. Otherwise you'll just stress yourself out! Also make sure that its comfy, you be wearing it for the better part of the day!
  • Since your hem line is elegantly simple, red shoes with an applique or bow etc would generally work with your dress.
  • Thanks ladies! I definitely feel like i'm stressing way too much. This helps a ton!

  • I got these shoes from DSW.  I never wear heels, but these are super comfortable!  They're also the perfect height so I don't have to have my hem changed on my dress.  Score!
