Infinity/Convertible BM Dresses?

I am thinking about getting these for my BM. Has anyone had any feedback on these Infinity/Convertible BM dresses?? I'm just worried about ordering them as they are non-returnable. BM's have said they liked them, especially since they can wrap however style they all individually like, we just haven't seen them in person. They also come with a matching bandeau top to wear underneath for more support.

Thx!

Non returnable? What if they are not flattering on them? Liking something in a picture doesn't mean liking it on your body.

Is that a picture of the Two Birds bridesmaid dresses? If so, they  are made of really gross jersey material and they are universally unflattering. They show every single lump and bump. And nearly impossible to wear a bra with.

FYI: There is an entire thread on Moms and Maid about these dresses from last week

  • These dresses, while a great idea, are not really all that flattering on a lot of people. You have to be quite thin and not busty for them to really look good.

  • OK thanks for the feedback!! I definitely wouldn't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable if these are as unforgiving you guys say!

  • Excellent in concept, scary in execution and reality.  One of my BMs bought this one (I let them choose their own), and immediately returned it in horror.

  • I bought a similar dress and I actually really liked it.  Don't know if I'd do it for a BM dress though just because most of the styles that I liked were mostly backless, but it was a fun dress for the party I bought it for.

  • I wouldn't order ANY dress that couldn't be returned without everybody trying it on first and making sure it was flattering.

The fact that it's an infinity dress and those are notorious for being expensive and looking ghastly on anyone that's not a 5'7" twig just furthers my resolve on that.

I mean, if you know for a fact that they will look great on everybody (Because they've all had a chance to try one on and find a way to tie it that they find flattering), then that's great, because the idea of this kind of dress is positively brilliant. Sadly, it just doesn't open as many doors for most people as the designers try to claim

  • I agree; don't do them. No bust support, thin fabric, never stays the way you tie it... just bad. Which is a shame, since the idea is brilliant. But they never work in practice.

Just as a counterpoint. One of my BMs who is 5'0" and a DD cup actually chose this type of dress as one she will be able to wear often. She found a perfect wrap style that allows her to wear a regular bra but still look sexy and not totally falling out without the bandeau. She was the deciding vote in the dress choice since my other girls didn't mind the backless and strapless options. Now I have a BM is pregnant, and the dress still works perfectly!

We got the Dessy twist Wrap dresses. I actually purchased one for myself and am lending it to a BM who can't totally afford her own right now.

  • My BMs and I have chosen the same type of dress for them. We are ordering them from henkaa.com because the fabric is much nicer. You can order fabric swatches to see the color and feel the fabric in person.
