Maggie Sottero Stella

So I bought  this dress, which is discountinued, and the store I purchased it from said alterations would make the dress perfect for my wedding day.

I don't know who has already gone through alterations, but my dress is a fit and flare and I'm a little worried that it's a little snug on my hips (even though everyone assured me my dress was fine and it would be made perfect). Is this something that alterations can take off and let out a little?

Because, like any bride would be, I'll be really upset if I go in for alterations and they tell me nothing can be done, even though they assured me everything would be great.

  • I forgot to mention too...

They are planning on tucking the dress up like four inches under that sash to make it the right length, so I don't know if instead they could cut that fabric and maybe use that to add a little bit of wiggle room if needed. I know these are probably questions I should be asking them, but I'm not suppose to go in until June for alterations and it's adding a little bit of stress, haha.
  • Did you try sitting or walking around the dress?

No,  they didn't really offer to let me sit and I was so worked up that I was too excited to even think about it, haha. I did walk from the dressing room up the the platform, like 15 feet maybe. Like three times. And it was snug, but I don't remember if that's because there was so many pins all around my hips and I didn't want to take big steps in fear of poking myself.
  • uhhhhhhhhh sitting is not something that is offered, you just say 'im going to sit in this dress before i spend _________________ on it!'

to me, it looks like you are a little uncomfortable in the hip area. it definitely needs to be taken out a bit, IMO
  • Yeah, that's what my gut is telling me too. I guess I'm just nervous that they're going to say there's nothing they can do, but I feel like they could because it doesn't need to be much at all.
