Beige/Champagne Color for Bridesmaid Dresses?

My fiance and I are getting married in a park on a cliff overlooking the ocean and the surroundings are so vibrant that we don't want to have the bridesmaid dresses be bright colors that would look artificial by comparison.  I am wearing an ivory, modern, classic gown and my FI will be in a black tux.  For our bridesmaids, we are looking for neutrals and I kind of like the look of champagne or beige colored bm dresses but one of my bridesmaids thinks I shouldn't get too close to white.  The dresses will be knee length, if that makes a difference.

What do you guys think?

I think it's a splendid idea, but as you can see from my pics below, I may be a little biased! ;) My bridesmaids' dresses were beige with white polka dots.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I think it would be beautiful.  Look at these photos.  Gorgeous.  Just go to Google Images and search on Champagne Bridesmaid Dresses.  You'll see a ton of photos like these.

  • I wanted to use a champagne color, but it just didn't work with my BMs coloring. I think it looks geat if your girls look good in those colors.

  • My dress is champagne with an ivory lace layer overtop, and I am thinking about having my MOH (my sister, she's the only bridesmaid) in champagne or even ivory, depending on how those colors look on her. We have talked about it and she loves the idea- think Pippa in the royal wedding. I think it sounds like a lovely idea for such a vibrant setting.

  • I really like the Champagne idea.

If your BM's are opposed to it; what do they think of blush dresses? That would also look very pretty in a bright setting.

  • I am thinking about the same idea for my BMs. I would love blush colored dresses but not completely sure with their skin colorings. I think I will let them choose the style but all stick to one color. And not sure whether they will be short or long. But I love the color choice!
