Color of Bridesmaid dresses??? NEED HELP!

So....I have been bouncing around many different ideas. I love bright colors and we have thought about the bright pink, blue, yellow, green, purple, and orange. I started from the gerbera daisies. We had thought about having each bridesmaid in a different color and then having solid colored bouquets. Then the vest for each groomsmen would match who they are walking down with.

Is this a stupid idea? Is this too much color? How could I tie in the bright colors together if it is stupid.....I just need several ideas....so confused!!!

I actually like this idea.  Another take could be black dresses with a sash that is a different color for each with a matching bouquet.  David's Bridal also has slips that add a ruffle of color if the skirt is not floor length.  Then have the groomsman match his maid. HTH Good Luck.

I went to a wedding that they did that and it looked like a prom catalogue. :P there were a few weddings on oncewed that had different colored bm dresses, but the dress style didnt match either, but it flowed nicely. It can be done, bms dont have to match, but with your colors it might look like a box of crayons.

Do you have the page on the website that shows the wedding with the different colors? That is what I am afraid of...is having TOO much color....just hard to make the decision!

 I dont, I know there was more than one wedding, and one was where each BM picked a vintage dress, so it fit themewise even tho each had different colors, the colors were also a bit more subdued. But its on the blog somewhere. Sorry, I know its not helpful.

What if you picked one color and had each girl wear a different shade of that color??

Super old school... but my mother did this at her wedding in the '70's and I always thought that it looked cute. BUT i would have to agree that having the guys all in different colors would be too much. Keep the vests all the same, and maybe even the ties and just have pocket squares that match the girls.

I do think that this can be done rignt and also very wrong. It's a thin line and I didn't have the guts to do it.

I agree with pp's, however, I want to add that it also depends on how many girls you are having. If you have three bms, I think it would look great, but five or six and I think it would be a little too much.

Thank you guys! I have a terrible time envisioning things sometimes so it helps when people bring ideas up! I like the black dress with different colored sashes and flowers to match. I also agree having the guys would be way to much. Thank you! If anyone has pictures of weddings that did pull it  off let me know!

I love the multi-colored BM look, but probably because I did that myself.  We used pastel colors and the BM's each carried a multi-colored bouquet.  We then kept the GM very neutral, with black tuxes with dark grey vests and ties and ivory rose bouts.  Matching vests may look like prom as PP mentioned.  It is your wedding so go with whatever you love!
