Birdcage veil during photography?

I am wearing a birdcage veil that goes from to a little below my nose (at an angle). I LOVE the veil, but now I'm wondering if I wear it during the wedding photography? Won't it cover my face and look weird in the posed family photos? I thought about removing it and putting it back in for certain pictures, but I don't want to ruin my hair. Help!

Re: Birdcage veil during photography?

  • I think it will be fine! Go ahead and leave it on. I'm also thinking birdcage- I love them so much. Maybe when you do your hair trial, see how easy/hard it is to take off and put back on the veil- have a friend do it and see how many times you can do it without messing your hair up- maybe it'll be fine!
  • I think you should try looking online for pictures of brides with birdcage veils.  If you can find a person's set of photos from her wedding, it may give you an idea.

I think most brides wear it during the pictures.  From what I've seen most BC veils do not over cover a bride's face, the netting allows her to come through.  But, I think searching pictures will give you the best idea.

Here is a set of pictures of a bride one.  Looks like she had it on until the reception. (Link)

  • With the posed family photos I would see if you could fold it back over your hair, and probably leave it like that probably for the reception-- but I would look at photos and see what your photographer suggests

  • Wearing a veil in photos won't make you look wierd, it will make you look like a bride.
  • That's really up to you.  My photographer has said positive things about birdcage veils in her last couple blog posts on weddings.  I think there were both pictures with the birdcage veil on and with it flipped back.
