anyone know of any comfortable 4 inch heels?

i bought my wedding shoes and they are about 4 inches. I had my first fitting already but i'm having my doubts that these shoes will be comfortable for more than a few hours.  anyone know of any comfortable heels?  my price range is anywhere between $50-$150.  I wear a size 5 so it's hard....but at least i can start somewhere

Re: anyone know of any comfortable 4 inch heels?

  • Anything with a platform rather than just a super high heel is more comfortable. I'm not sure if there's a brand that's extra comfy with that heel height, but I can tell you that most designer shoes (Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik) are NOT built for comfort. I think your best bet is to go to a department store/shoe store and just try on a bunch, see what works.

Also, I know you've already had a fitting so I'm guessing you're worried about dress length. You could always wear lower heels and then have the dress hemmed at your next fitting. Might save your feet :)
  • I'm wearing 4 1/4" heels (although I have yet to find them, I was just measured for my dress in heel height that I'm confident I will wear - however, I wonder if I should have gone higher - I'm short!) - definitely look into a heel that has a bit of a platform because that will give height, but won't be as uncomfortable as straight 4" heels.  I plan on wearing heels throughout ceremony, pictures, dances, but then change into wedges for the real dancing part of the night!!!!

    Good luck!
  • Have you looked at Jessica Simpson's shoes? They're cute and not horribly uncomfortable. Platforms are the way to go, and if you can find wedges, you'll be better off comfort-wise. I also am of the oppinion that comfortable 4" heels is an oxymoron, but whatever you're good with.

I agree with PP that if you get in a jam, you can take your dress up more.

  • I actually disagree with sacjw. I have several pairs of Jessica Simpsons and have found that I can't go more than a couple hours before they start hurting. :/
Steve Maddens are hit and miss. I have a couple pairs that are HEAVEN and some that are eh.
I have always had great success with Guess.
I agree that going platform will make it easier, as well as putting in cushions to ease the pressure. Also, doing good ankle/foot exercises will help ( bosu ball is amazing... I only know this because I'm a hiker/backpacker so it's important to get used to uncomfortable walking and it turns out that it's helpful for being graceful in heels as well ;)

Honestly, my most comfortable heels are all off-brands. They are random find from JCP and DSW.
  • Guess is the most comfortable brand of heels I own.
I agree with Steve Madden, hit or miss.
Please DO NOT get Aldo, they are hell.
Surprisingly, I had this one pair of Paris Hilton shoes and they were sooo comfy.
Jessica Simpson is generally comfortable and she does have platforms in almost all her shoes.....HTH!
  • i have found a few pair of RSVP shoes on Zappos.com or 6pm.com that are fairly comfortable. what color do you need? one pair was actually a 3 1/2 in. heel with a 1/2 in platform, and it had a padded section under the ball of the foot. more comfortable than most!
  • I have a few pairs of platforms that are 4" from Aldo's.  My wedding shoes are from there as well and I have worn them for a while during my fittings and have walked around in them and have been completely comfortable. Its worth a try looking at their web site to see if you find any you like.

  • Can you change into comfier shoes later in the evening?

I had 2 1/2 inch shoes and had blisters when my wedding was over... didn't even feel them until I took my shoes off at the hotel.

My cousin wore high Manolos for her wedding and it was really blister city! She said she was in soo much pain later.

  • my favorite is bakersshoes.com.  I have had many 4" heals from there and love them all.  I think they are very comfortable.  It definitely depends on the shoe and foot.  I can't wear Jessica Simpson, I feel very off balance.  I wear heals on a daily basis and for me Bakers tend to feel like slippers for me.
  • These are my shoes http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/glint-devyn-sandal/3186404 Ive worn them around my house for about 5 hours at a time to break em in a little and so far they are pretty comfy. Love them!
  • Very good quality shoes shouldn't hurt.   That's why the Choos and  Bouts sell so fast.

    Try www.myglassslipper.com

There are three set price ranges available so you sould be able to find something there
