WARNING RE: ordering from dressdo.com

Just to save anybody else the drama that I've been through. After an extraordinarily difficult time trying to find burgundy bridesmaid dress (for my only attendant--my daughter!), found DRESSDO.COM online. They seemed to have a nice selection and reasonable prices. WHAT a mistake!  It has been a nightmare from the beginning.  Company is actually in China (although no mention of this on the site), and from the first email, which said in part "...our dressmaker sincerely suggest you offer us you size of barefooted height,,,: Um.  When it showed up three weeks later--it was inside-out in a flimsy bag with no tags or paperwork of any kind.  And hideous.  Completely unalterably hideous.  Not just wrong, but clashing color, droopy, awkward fit, four very heavy layers, uneven hem length, bra cups placed way too high.  A complete mess!  My complaint letters were met with fractured English form letters telling me to--among other things "...find local seamstress...trust me this won't bring you too much trouble." Seriously!  I am still wrangling with them to try and get an address so I can return it. They want photos of "unfit" before they will think about giving that info out. BUYER BEWARE!!

  • Sorry that happened to you but I can't say I'm surprised considering that it's a knock off site.

[QUOTE]I'm sorry you had a bad experience.  That is what happens 99% of the time with the knock-off sites.  ( If you still need a burgundy dress for your daughter, check out Bill Levkoff and Mori Lee. They both have darker red colors.  My bridesmaids wore a satin Bill Levkoff dress in the Euro Wine color.

<div>Clearly!  Although I had no idea it was a knock-off site.  It gave every appearance of just being a regular dress site--nothing about overseas work or that it wasn't regular retail.  I think they must take product pictures off legitimate sites and use them for their shoddy rip-offs. Because there was NO resemblance between what we received and what was shown.  My most recent email from them (after a week of requesting info so the dress could be returned) "...we sincerely suggest you place new order and this time we will pay attention to detail..."  Yeaaaah.  THAT'll happen!</div>
  • Not trying to be mean after you've already had a bad experience, but under their About Us tab it reads this:

Welcome to DressDo.com, a professional one-stop wedding apparel online store which located in China

  • I am sorry you are running into so much trouble with the dress.  It really sucks to have that much extra stress added to an already stressful event.

You might want to try www.Dessy.Com. I love love love them and almost all of my bridesmaids decided to get their dresses from them (I let them choose).

    Here's their burgundy dress color:
