Margate Review

Has anyone gotten married at or been to a wedding at the Margate?  Any review would be helpful!  Thank you!

Have you visited the site? We had it on our list of venues to see and were not impressed. They were not prepared for our tour of the venue (even though we had an appointment), and the actual room is in the basement of the facility. It doesn't look like it's been updated since 1985. 

It's too bad because the location is fantastic, but for the price it just wasn't worth it for us.

I attended a wedding their Fall 2009.  Like the PP, it was a little outdated (the rooms are nothing that great).  but we had a great time and the scenary was great.   It was also close to the church they got married in.   The only downside was that during cocktail hour, they were short staffed at the bar so it was a bit chaotic trying to get a drink.  I remember the food being pretty good.

After the reception was over, we went to an afterparty at one of their bars, which was really fun, they had allowed the groom to set up some instruments for him and his friends to jam on.   They seemed very accomodating.
