Matching sweatsuits for wedding party

I have seen some really cute pictures of the bride and her bridesmaids decked out in matching sweatsuits on the day of (sweatpants and a zip-up hoodie usually with either rhinestone or screenprinting on them). I would love to do this for my wedding but cannot spend a lot of money.

Any recommendations as to websites I could use that woudl be really reasonable?

Thanks!

Re: Matching sweatsuits for wedding party

  • I bought hoodies from the Aeropostale website ($15 each) and wrote the names myself with some fabric-safe paint.
    HTH!
  • I'm making my own as well.  I don't have an official wedding party so I'm just doing mine and my daughter's (the flower girl), but I'm buying mine and doing the iron on rhinestone transfers.

  • I would skip it because they're useless after the wedding day.  Save your money.

And also, aren't sweatsuits kindof a thing of the past?

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

I made hoodies for me, my sister and my mom.  The sweatshirts were from Hanes, the crystals were from HotFix and I designed them.  I can add the how-to to this post, I just need to find the link!

We all still wear them.  My mom and sister leave the house in them but I try not to in mine.  It seems really weird to be running around in a bride sweatshirt in public!

    They looked like this:

  • I'm doing yoga pants and a hoodie from VS.  I'm spending a ton of money on a dress for my wedding that I'll never be able to wear again so spending a little on yoga pants and a hoodie that I'll actually be spending more time in that day and that I will wear around the house in the future doesn't seem like a waste to me.

I think for the bride it's fine and cute.  But what are people going to do with a sweat suit that says bridesmaid on the back. I think they would much rather something they could use again.

  • I am pretty sure my girls will wear them again. I was thinking of not putting anything indicating "bridesmaid" on them. I would probably leave the bottoms plain and then put a rhinestone monogram or similar item on the sweatshirts.

I mainly wanted something cute and matching for us all to wear the day of while we are geting ready. I think the zip up hoodies will be good so we don't mess up our hair.

I understand everyone's opinions as to whether the girls will wear them again or whether it is worth the money, but that is more a decision for each bride to make individually. I wasn't asking if anyone thought it was a good idea, but rather whether anyone could recommend a good place to buy them or the supplies to make them.
  • You didn't ask for anyones opinion, you just asked if anyone knew where to get them so don't worry about if they think it's a good idea or not cause it's your wedding and they aren't in it!

P.S. I'm looking to geet them for my bridal party as well and think they are awesome:)
