Bustling.

Just a quick question that popped into my head:
When do you bustle your dress? Is this done right after the ceremony before you go to the reception (to make it easier for transportation) or do you generally leave the dress unbustled for the beginning of the reception? Just wondering what most people do.

Re: Bustling.

  • We bustled mine right before we arrived at the reception for CH.

I think I'm going to bustle my dress after the first dance.
  • That is a good question. I will probably bustle mine after the ceremony and before the reception. I don't want DH tripping over my train during our first dance...lol
  • We did mine before entering the reception. We didn't dance until after dinner, and I didn't want to trip over it all evening.
  • My BMs and a friend did it for me right after we left the church, but then the photographer asked that they unbustle it for the formal/candid wedding party photos at a local park.

They bustled it back up for me once we got to the reception hall.

I wouldn't want to leave it unbustled for the first dance ... you'd probably be tripping all over it.

  • I'm bustling mine right before the reception/dinner, I don't want my fiance or I to trip over it while we do the foxtrot. Even bustled, I'm concerned.
  • before first dance
