Recommend your shapewear!

This is my dress...

I am having it altered so that the skirt begins at my natural waist, just under where the sash is pictured here. 

I've worn spanx before but I really don't need any slimming on my butt or thighs, especially in this dress. Can you ladies recommend a good waist cincher? I really want my waist to be drawn in where that sash hits.

I'd go for a boustier, they're very comfortabe, and they cinch in your waist beautifully. The bridal salon where I got my dress actually supplied them for you to wear when you were trying on dresses, and it made all the difference, I couldn't believe my waist was actually that tiny!! Try to find one where it comes down over the top of your hips, to avoid a muffin top situation.

I'd still recommend Spanx,  I wear their "higher power" ones and they don't hold anything in on the thigh, butt area but it sucks everything in comfortably for your waist and above.  They are also comfy which is a plus if you're going to be wearing them all day.  The higher power ones just have like a regular panty in them, the power doesn't start till above that.
