Size matters?

Sort of have a problem here. Of all people for both my fiance and I to fall in love with it had to be each other. I love him with all my heart and can't wait to have his last name. The one problem is he is 6' 6'' and I'm 5' 1''. Its never really bothered us before and we laugh and make jokes like you ogre and I'm the midgit (no offense to other tall or little people out there I apologize). I haven't looked for any wedding dresses yet because I'm losing weight and trying to work on my fitness. Well, I don't know what kind of dress would make me look taller. I'm the type of girl that gets heels at Goodwill b/c I know they'll be off before the event even starts so heels are probably a no go. Anyone got suggestions, please???

It will really help to try multiple styles on to be sure, but look for anything that doesn't cut you off at the waist, because that makes the eye stop there and divides you in half. Look for something that is one line from top to hem.

If I were you (and I'm 5'11", so didn't have this problem!), I'd wear heels for the ceremony and pictures and then ditch them for the reception.  But honestly, everyone knows your height difference, so it probably doesn't matter too much .

I'd just avoid a really poofy dress, which will probably overwhelm someone your size.  Something leaner will probably make you look longer.  Good luck!

I'm 5'2 myself...I've tried on different dress styles and the ones that made me look the tallest and leanest were trumpets, a-lines and mermaids. If you've got the figure for it, I think sheath styles will also make you look taller and leaner. Like PP said, anything big and poofy will swallow you whole and make you look even tinier in my opinion. Flowy fabrics will probably elongate you a little bit too. Hope that helps!

No Drop waists, no overwheming ball gowns. Other than that try on lots of shapes and styles.
