Rehearsal dresses?

Most sites seem to overlook the rehearsal dress.  What do you recommend for a rehearsal dress?  White?  And where should i look for these? 
I was thinking something white or off white and short as the rehearsal will be sort of a backyard bbq style and dinner in September on this year at the beach.

I wore a black summer dress.  If you want a white casual dress, there are a ton out in the stores right now.

I wore an LBD--total opposite of the big white dress, you know? But I think a white dress would be fitting, cool, and comfy. Go for it!

I think I am planning on wearing something in hot pink, which is one of our wedding colors. Perfect for a summer wedding!

I haven't bought my dress yet, but I am planning on going the white route as well.  How often do you get to wear all white?  But really, anything is fine.  If I don't find a white dress I like, then I might try a little black dress. 

As for formality, I would just match the venue.  If you're going to a nicer restuarant, maybe do something more formal.  If you're having a picnic as the one girl above, something more casual should do it.

Totally missed your Q about where to find a white dress! White House Black Market is probably my favorite, since they have so much selection and sell so many white dresses with great textures to them. You should also check out department stores--I like Macy's dress finder because you can narrow dresses down by color and length. Bluefly.com lets you do the same, but their dresses are definitely a splurge.

I will be wearing this dress, which I already own.  Lots of girls love the idea of buying a new dress for every wedding-related event.  But you certainly don't have to if you're not that kind of girl or it's not in your budget.

I want to wear something bright and fun--something sort of out of the ordinary for me since I don't usually dress up or wear dresses.

I agree with the person who said white because how often do you get to wear all white! Graduation times are a good time to look for white dresses of all kinds - lots of schools around here require white dresses for the girls for graduation!

I am wearing a summer dress that has a black and white pattern with hot pink straps and sash (thats our wedding colors).  Its just a cute summer dress since we are doing an outdoor poolside rehearsal dinner.  But i love it and its super comfortable. Didn't really plan on doing the wedding  colors, as i had originally bought the dress for my bachelorette and a different one for rehearsal and then switched them.  I don't really think there is any standard though on what you wear.  I have seen anything from jeans, to summer dresses, to dress pants and a jacket for a winter wedding.  Just wear something that fits your dinner venue as a PP said.

LOL - now that's original. And fun. I think the rehearsal dinner should be more fun & aloof - after all there's enough formality the day after, right? I would consider doing something silly and fun llke this, if it's your style.

I bought mine from Kohls, just a nice long dress. Didn't match my wedding colors or anything but FI loved it on me and I also got compliments from family and friends on how good it looked.

I just got a great white summer dress at Lord & Taylor for the rehearsal. They had several there.
