POLL - Bmaids dresses - rose petal vs watermelon

Hey guys I am trying to decide my bridesmaid dress colors between davids bridals rose petal and watermelon. I had originally picked rose petal but the sales lady told me it can often look dull. I was wondering if anyone had a picture of them in a rose petal bridesmaid dress?

What color do you like better? (Its hard for me to decide because I haven't seen rose petal on an actual person)

I like the brightness of the watermelon. I think he rose petal is a little bit of  a weird pink.

I also prefer the watermelon.  However, I guess it kind of depends on what you're going for.  I don't think the rose petal color is horrible, but I think it compliments a more "antique" theme vs. the watermelon that's a bit more modern, to me, if that makes sense.

I like the watermelon but I may be partial because that's the color we're using. Why not head to the store and try on both to see which you like more?

Here's a link to a picture of Rose Petal dresses I tracked down online. I think it's up to you, based on what your vision of the wedding is.

I had to wear Rose Petal in 2 weddings.  2 very different dresses.  To be honest the pictures on line are a weird color.  In person the color is very pretty and looks great on every skin tone where the watermelon is an awesome color and sometimes doesn't show well on other skin tones.

The rose petal is also very slimming and that's why one bride chose it because a few in the party were a little on the heavier side.  And it slimmed everyone out.

    But, I like them both.

For a summer wedding, I like the watermelon better.

I agree with cg-pm. These are two completely different colors. These are not shades.  I think you need to decide what the "feel" of you wedding is. I also agree that you should see it in person.

I like the watermelon but probably because my colors were fuchsia and black. ;)

Rose petal seems to be a bit softer and a little more forgiving of a color than the watermelon. Fuschia generally looks great on very, very fair, or very very dark skin tones. Anyone in between kind of gets washed away by the color. Rose petal seems like a more "natural" pink. I'd check with your bridesmaids. It's your wedding, but if they're wearing the dress, perhaps you should go with the general consensus of how they feel, especially if you can't decide which you like better! Wink
