Picking out a wedding band?

My engagment ring is pretty simple, 1/2 carat princess-cut diamond solitaire with a plain band, partly because that's what I wanted and partly because my fiance had just finished college and I knew he didn't have tons of money available to spend on a ring.

Anyways, now that it's time to look at wedding bands, I kind of want a diamond band of some sort. My fiance is more financially stable now, so that's not so much an issue, but will it look bad to have a plain band on the engagement ring and a wedding band with diamonds? Is that at all normal?

You can get anything you want, there are band wraps made specifically for solitaires if you are interested in that. It's whatever is 'the one' as far as rings go. I've seen some lovely diamond encrusted ring wraps that would be stunning with a simple solitaire in them.

I have a plain solitaire band on my e-ring, and diamonds in my wedding band.  I think a plain band actually gives you more options with the wedding band, that's part of why we went with a plain band.

You can also get an enhancer which will add to your ring but I think it would look fine with a diamond band and your e-ring.

I have the same.  My e-ring is a plain band solitare, but the band I like is a channel set diamond band.

I have a solitaire emerald cut & my band has small baguettes (keeping the vertical kid of look) in it. I think they look nice next to one another & complement one another!

Similarly, I think if you can get a band with a few small, small princess cut diamonds in it to complement your solitaire (or possibly a partially pavé band0 it would look great!

I have the world's simplest tiffany style, 6 prong setting and to spice it up I'm having my wedding band be a double sides wrap band with lots of detail and more diamonds.

I also have a very simple ring, plain thin band, princess cut, 0.25 ct. and I am torn between a princess cut half eternity ring as a wedding band or a plain Tiffany-style knife's edge band. I want something that still looks good and resembles a wedding band if I leave my engagement ring at home. What I am planning to do is take a day jewelry shopping and try both styles on, take a couple of pictures, then sleep on it. Good luck to you!
