Colored Wedding Shoes - Can work for any dress or just certain types?

Hi Fellow Knotties!

I just bought my dress today and couldn't be happier.  Before I settled on my decision, I thought the colored shoe trend was something fun I wanted to do.  Now, I'm wondering if having colored shoes is only appropriate for certain styles/types of wedding gowns.  Has anyone come across any articles or have an opinion about this?  I like the trend, but I don't want to feel mismatched..

Any thoughts on what works/doesn't work would be great!

Thanks, ladies!  I just got my dress, so I have a lot of time to deliberate. 

Pelendu: I was planning on using my color for the shoes and matching it to the bridesmaid dresses.. we're on the same page

kd.joseph - Your dress looked great w/ the colored shoes!

dizzinea - I was thinking the same.. my dress is not ball gown or tea length, and I was thinking those 2 styles would be best for colored shoes.  Actually, it's why I started the post.. I didn't want to assume, but it seems I'm not the only one!

CAMT4 - It's my style to do something a little different, w/o being extreme.. so doing a traditional, but colored shoe is fitting for my personality!

I think I am just going to have to see what's out there in the shoe dept. and see what I'm drawn to.. then picture it w/ my dress.  Maybe if the style of the shoe looks great w/ my dress, changing it from white to purple would work!
