What color shoes??

my bm's are wearing Malibu blue dresses, other colors are black and white for summer wedding. What color shoes should they wear? I really just want them to wear white because it would look best but heard it's a no no, only bride wears white shoes... But I'd rather wear the Malibu color shoes. Thoughts?

Why does only the bride wear white shoes?

My shoes are black.

Anyway, I personally would go with black, most women already have black dress shoes in their closet. If you're requiring your girls to get new shoes, than I say go with the white.

I think I heard that at Davids bridal.. But I'd prefer white. Just think it would look better since it's such a bright blue dress and being in summer.

I think the white would be okay. Just remember if you require them to get a specific shoe, it is nice if you pay for it. I would just tell them to get something neutral... I would say a gold/nude sandal. People will hardly notice what is on their feet.

I like the idea of white shoes and I doubt anyone would think anything of it. I'm picturing your color scheme and I think it would be really pretty.

I've never heard of only the bride wearing white shows. However, I can tell you that I do not own at white shoes and probably wouldn't wear them very often afterwards. So if I was being required to wear them for the wedding I would hope the bride was paying for them.

My BMs are wearing white shoes, as am I. Have never heard about only brides wearing white shoes before...dresses, of course, but so many bride where their "something blue" as shoes or something else I don't know about white shoes meaning bride...

I will go with Andrea. How about silver? Really. Silver shoes do look nice, and you can even wear them later with other dresses. There are lots of designs, and you can go with one that looks good and are comfortable to wear.

My girls are in malibu also (with regency and ivory as the other wedding colors), and I told them I don't care what they wear on their feet... their dresses are floor length, so no one is going to see thier shoes unless they are showing them off for whatever reason. That being said, they spoke among themselves and decided they wanted to wear ivory/cream colored shoes.

I'm with the poster who said nude.  Ever since that was suggested to me by a friend, it's my #1 choice of shoe color.  Especially when you have a bold dress color.

I'd go with silver or nude. I think black shoes would be too much of a contrast. My bridesmaids wore peacock blue dresses and I told them to pick out any silver shoe that was comfortable for them, that fit the formality of the dress. Each of them chose different shoes and they were all slightly different shades of silver and style. It looked great. Best of all, I knew my bridesmaids were comfortable and happy with the shoes that they got to pick out themselves.

I wouldn't wear white shoes again unless they were some kind of print.
